Created in 1964 in Cameroon, the Regional School for Rescue and Fire Fighting in Douala, Cameroon (ERSI) is one of the three professional schools managed by the Agency for the Safety of  Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA), an international organisation grouping eighteen(18) member countries in the cooperative management of air navigation safety.

Evidently, ERSI’s bilingual and didactic expertise is considered in Africa as a leader in the training of airport fire fighters, a status recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). It is normal to find countries other than ASECNA member countries requesting the competence of ERSI. In the same wise, it is ordinary to see private enterprises manifesting their needs in the training of their personnel in rescue and fire fighting.
